Stephen Ministry
"Reaching Out...Lifting Up"
A Stephen Minister is a Christian friend who
walks beside you through times of trouble.
Stephen Ministry helps to meet
the needs of individuals who are:
- Experiencing life changing events
- Facing decisions on future care of
aging parents/spouses
- Experiencing absence or loss of
family members due to death,
school, military assignments,
marriage, divorce
- Persons adjusting to becoming
single parents
- Stress related life issues
- Facing serious or terminal illness
Are you or do you know someone
who needs:
- Someone who listens and
cares/shares Christ's love
- Someone you can trust who will
keep your concerns confidential
- Someone to be there with regular
visits
Stephen Ministers are not:
If you answer yes to any of
these questions...
- Is life more than you can
handle right now?
- Is your health, your attitude, or
your relationships suffering?
- Are you adjusting to a new
job, changed marital status,
serious illness, the death of a
loved one, a recent move?
- Would you like to have
someone in your life to help
support you through this
difficult time?
Maybe a Stephen Minister
can HELP...
Consider having a Stephen
Minister walk with you or a friend
through a time of transition or
uncertainty. Please contact the
church office in order to get in
contact with a Stephen Minister.
(Be sure to get the person's
permission before making the call

process work?
- A person - a member of St.
John - is in need of Christian
care.
- A Stephen Minister learns
about the need from you.
- A Stephen Minister will meet
with the person to talk about
the program.
- With the person's permission,
a Stephen Minister is
assigned to meet with as
often as needed, with him/her.
